OLGA FALKOWSKI, MD
MEDICAL DIRECTOR AND DIRECTOR OF MOLECULAR GENETICS
Dr. Falkowski serves as the Medical Director and Director of Molecular Genetics at Acupath Laboratories, Inc. where she is responsible for the supervision and sign out of histological, cytopathological, FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization) and molecular cases. She is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
Prior to joining Acupath, Dr. Falkowski was an Attending Pathologist at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center and at Tisch Hospital, New York University of Medicine. Dr. Falkowski completed her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, University Hospital of Columbia University, and a residency in General Pathology at the First Moscow Medical School in Russia. Subsequently, she fulfilled a Surgical fellowship at Tisch Hospital, at New York University School of Medicine, followed by a Gastrointestinal observership at Harvard Medical School. She completed an observership at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Genitourinary Pathology. Dr. Falkowski received her medical degree from the First Moscow Medical School in Russia.
As part of her pathology work, Dr. Falkowski has served as an Assistant Professor at New York University School of Medicine, Hofstra University, as well as Albert Einstein College of Medicine, respectively.
She is currently a member of the College of American Pathologists and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. Dr. Falkowski is a noted author and lecturer.
HUI C. TSOU, MD, FCAP
Board-certified in Dermatopathology and Anatomic Pathology, Dr. Hui C. Tsou serves as the Department Chief of Dermatopathology for Acupath Laboratories, Inc.
Dr. Tsou’s vast experience includes appointments at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, New York University (NYU) Medical Center, Continuum Healthcare System, and Bendiner & Schlesinger, Inc. Additionally, while an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at Columbia University College of Medicine, she worked on cancer genetics, specializing in skin cancers.
Dr. Tsou fulfilled a Dermatopathology fellowship at the prestigious Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathlogy, St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital, as well as a Surgical Pathology fellowship at NYU Medical Center. Dr. Tsou received her M.D. from Jinan University Medical College, Guangzhou, China and her MS in Human Nutrition from Columbia University.
She is currently a member of the College of American Pathologists and the American Society of Human Genetics.
MELISSA GILL, MD
Dr. Gill serves as a Consultant Dermatopathologist for Acupath Laboratories, Inc. She is board-certified in Dermatopathology and Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
After finishing Anatomic Pathology Residency and a Research Fellowship in, respectively, the Departments of Pathology and Dermatology at Columbia University Medical Center, New York, NY, Dr. Gill completed a fellowship in Dermatopathology at Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY. She received her undergraduate and medical degrees from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
Dr. Gill has co-edited a textbook and co-authored over fifty publications, including numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters as well as a few abstracts in the subjects of genetic mutations in melanocytic neoplasms and familial cutaneous tumor syndromes, Spitzoid neoplasms, dysplastic nevi, squamous neoplasms, basal cell carcinoma, and a variety of other cutaneous lesions. Her expertise in Reflectance Confocal Microscopy has made her an accomplished speaker chosen to present at conferences across the U.S. and Europe.
In addition to her appointment at Acupath, Dr. Gill is the Founder and Medical Director of SkinMedical Research and Diagnostics, PLLC and the Laboratory Director of A Center for Dermatology. She is also an active researcher collaborating on academic projects as well as consulting in Reflectance Confocal Microsopy and Dermatopathology. Prior to her current professional appointments, Dr. Gill served as a Senior Staff Dermatopathologist at Quest Diagnostics. She is a member of the International Confocal Microscopy Working Group, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatopathology, the Medical Society of the State of New York and the Westchester County Medical Society.
JENNIFER ZHOU, MD, FASCP
CYTOPATHOLOGIST AND SURGICAL PATHOLOGIST
Dr. Zhou serves as a Cytopathologist and Surgical Pathologist at Acupath Laboratories, Inc. and is board certified in Cytopathology, as well as Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. She specializes in the cytological diagnosis of various specimens including fine needle aspirates from salivary glands, lung, pancreas, liver, lymph nodes, thyroids, breasts, and a variety of body cysts, as well as urine, gastrointestinal or pulmonary brushings and washings. Dr. Zhou is fellowship trained in Cytopathology and subspecialized in Gastrointestinal, Urological, and General Surgical Pathology.
Dr. Zhou completed her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and her fellowship in Cytopathology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She received her medical degree from Tianjin Medical University in Tianjin, China.
Dr. Zhou has contributed to many publications and abstracts in subjects including endometrial carcinoma, glycogen-rich clear cell carcinoma of the breast, pancreatic mucinous cystic neoplasms, and eosinophilic gastroenteritis. She also serves as a peer reviewer for the prestigious cytology journal, Diagnostic Cytopathology.
Dr. Zhou is a member of the College of American Pathologists and American Society of Clinical Pathologists. She is licensed by the Medical Boards of New York and several other states.
JONATHAN HARRIS, MD
Dr. Harris serves as a Senior Hematopathologist at Acupath Laboratories, Inc. He is board certified in Hematopathology and Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Dr. Harris completed his Hematopathology Fellowship at New York University Medical Center and an Oncologic Surgical Pathology Fellowship Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He fulfilled his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York and received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
In addition to his current appointment at Acupath, Dr. Harris serves as an Attending Hematopathologist and Surgical Pathologist for Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Previously, Dr. Harris served as the Director of Flow Cytometry and Clinical Assistant Attending Hematopathologist and Surgical Pathologist at Bellevue Hospital Center. His prior academic appointments include working as an Assistant Professor of Pathology at New York University. He is licensed by the Medical Board of the State of New York.
Dr. Harris has contributed to numerous studies and abstracts which have been published in Diagnostic Pathology, Journal of Clinical Apheresis, Neuroscience and many more on the topics of Tumor Associated Macrophages in Classical Hodgkin Lymphoma, Immonoglobulin Light Chain Expression in B-cells by Flow Cytometry, Retinal Detachment in Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura and Opioid Receptors. He is member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, the College of American Pathologists, the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the American Society of Hematology.
GUANGHUI KONG, MD, PHD
Dr. Kong is board certified in Hematopathology, as well as Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Dr. Kong serves as a Staff Hematopathologist at Acupath Laboratories, Inc. She specializes in the interpretation of blood, bone marrow, lymph nodes and other tissues for leukemia, lymphoma and other hematologic disorders. Her expertise includes flow cytometry and molecular diagnosis.
Prior to joining Acupath, Dr. Kong served as an Attending Hematopathologist for Jacobi Medical Center, the Brooklyn Hospital Center, Metropolitan Specialty Labs and Genpath Diagnostics. She was Assistant Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She also served as a Pediatrics Hematologist at the Children’s Hospital of Zhejiang University in China.
Dr. Kong completed her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. She continued her Hematopathology Fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine under Dr. Attilio Orazi, a well-known bone marrow hematopathologist who is currently the Director of the Hematopathology Division at Weill Cornell Medical College. Before her pathology residency training, she received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and served as Research Associate at Howard Hughes Medical Institute and Washington University in St. Louis studying ZAP-70 in lymphocyte antigen signaling. She received her M.D. from Zhejiang Medical University on China. She has authored more than 10 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals.
