Digital Lab Aide:
Acupath laboratories, Inc. operates a CLIA-approved, NYS-licensed, and CAP-accredited Diagnostics Division that includes Molecular Genetic and FISH testing. Acupath is a 24 hour/7 day a week facility.
Join our laboratory team as a Digital Lab Aide, where precision, organization, and technology come together to support cutting-edge scientific work. This role is essential to the smooth operation of our lab’s digital infrastructure, focusing on the accurate digitization and management of biological samples and associated data.
Pay Range: $20.00 – $22.00 / hour
Responsibilities:
- Digitization: Operating digital slide scanners and other imaging equipment to convert physical samples into digital format. Review digital images for quality.
- File Management: Organizing, storing, and managing digital images and associated data, ensuring proper documentation and adhering to data privacy regulations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining laboratory equipment, including digital scanners and other imaging systems, and performing minor repairs or troubleshooting.
- Laboratory Support: Maintaining a clean and organized lab environment, including inventory management and restocking supplies.
- Data Entry and Reporting: Recording and reporting data accurately, potentially using spreadsheets or other data management systems.
- Safety Compliance: Following safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- General Lab Assistance: Providing support to other lab personnel, such as assisting with testing, collecting data, sample preparation, and participating in team meetings.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and reporting any issues with equipment or processes to senior lab personnel.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of all procedures, experiments, and data, both in notebooks and electronic systems.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a laboratory or clinical setting is preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with digital imaging systems or LIS platforms is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Comfortable working with computers and managing digital files.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced lab environment.
