Lab Aide:
Acupath laboratories, Inc. operates a CLIA-approved, NYS-licensed, and CAP-accredited Diagnostics Division that includes Molecular Genetic and FISH testing. Acupath is a 24 hour/7 day a week facility.
Lab Aides are an essential part of the team of laboratory health care professionals. They assist the lab technical staff and pathologists in performing a variety of semi-skilled tasks and/or clerical duties that are critical to the diagnostic process in determining health and disease.
Pay Range: $20.00 – $22.00 / hour
Responsibilities:
- Prepares and processes patient specimens for analysis.
- Adheres to written internal and external quality control procedures in order to ensure the quality of all test results.
- Performs routine and/or preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Loading and unloading automated processors.
- Organize case trays and slides.
- Identifying and reporting any issues with equipment or processes to senior lab personnel.
- Works with the team to ensure adequate reagent and supply inventory levels at all times.
- Following safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Uses Infection Control practices and procedures including, but not limited to, wearing gloves, goggles, protective masks and other safety equipment.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience in the clinical lab space preferred.
Hours: Evening 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM or 8:00 PM – 4:30AM
